Doing the Impossible!

Totally love this quote I just snagged from the Hypnobabies page!

Some people believe comfortable, drug-free birth is 'impossible'. We know otherwise at Hypnobabies...

"There's not much use in trying," said Alice. "One can't believe impossible things."

"I dare say that you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "Why sometimes, I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

~ from "Alice In Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll (1865)

Good maternal nutrition

I came across this quote today, and really liked it...

"No amount of prenatal blood sampling, uterine testing, ultrasounds, amniocentesis, or other physical evaluations can substitute for good maternal nutrition." ~Dr. David Stewart

This is a really good guide to nutrition while pregnant and nursing -- lots of colorful graphs to keep your attention!

Here is a pamphlet from ACOG that may be interesting.

What are your thoughts on maternal nutrition?

Inspirational Quote

"How one is born seems to be closely related to one's general attitude toward life, the ratio of optimism to pessimism, how one relates to other people, and one's ability to confront challenges." ~ Pschiatrist Stanislav Grof, as quoted in the book Gentle Birth Choices by Barbara Harper, R.N.

Inspirational Quotes

"There's a HUGE difference in making a decision and making an INFORMED decision! Many times in childbirth women make decisions based on what someone else told them, what they view birth as, fear of the unknown, thinking that ____ is the only option, not having the information needed to make the decision, ..." ~ Birth Without Fear
